1977 Grumman AA5A Cheetah | 2300 TT | Certified | Low Time Engine, IFR certified, ADSB OUT, Great XC machine
$98,50000 CAD
Hello my name is Matt and I am selling my Grumman Cheetah. I have had the plane since last fall, using it to build time towards an airline. I have achieved my hour requirement and am now looking to sell. The airplane uses a Lycoming O-320 engine and is sitting around 900 hours, 2000 TBO. A major advantage to this airplane is the low-cost of maintenance, my last annual cost me $2000 as everything is very accessible and easy to inspect. All logs are up to date since the import from the USA
The cheetah is a great plane, the controls are very light and it feels like a small convertible with the sliding canopy. The extended fuel tanks allow for 6 hours of flying at roughly 8 GPH at cruise. Earlier this year I installed a brand new stack of avionics to support my ifr training. After achieving my Group 1 IFR, I have taken this plane through IMC and shot approaches down to minimums with no problem. It is a no-excuse IFR build using Steam gauges however there is room to upgrade to a glass panel if the next owner desires. The addition of ADSB-in and out has allowed me to do multiple cross countries throughout the United States and given added confidence.
Since I have owned the airplane it has been stored in a hangar at CYOO Oshawa airport, I have taken good care of it and haven't had any bad experiences. The airframe is low time however the exterior could use some work.
The Avionics installed are:
Trig Audio panel
Garmin GPS 175
Trig Ty96 Comm
Bendix King KX155 NAV/Comm
Trig TT31 Mode S Transponder
Bendix King Glideslope/LOC
Midcontinent GPS CDI
For more Information on this type of aircraft I would encourage watching | Fly with Bruno | he has the same type of plane.

This is a great airplane that I have really enjoyed flying, It will be sad to see it go.
